Don’t you hate it when your toenails break or get stuck? It’s annoying and dangerous. Anyone who has cut their nose with a jagged nail knows that. Don’t get close to your eye – oh! No file – no problem. Years ago I learned how to take care of rough nails without a nail file. Call me cheap or call me handyman – I don’t care. My methods work.
It’s easier to find a nail file replacement if you’re staying in a hotel. Isn’t that when you need a file most – away from home? It’s hiding in that nice big bathroom that you don’t have to clean. It comes in many colors and many sizes. It is always on and will not only heal rough edges but can help reshape the nail. Shower tiles, or more specifically, grout between tiles are great for nails. All you have to do is rub your nails along the grout line and viola – smooth again. You can take a drive-by approach or take care of that snag in the bathroom—whatever works for your timeline. Best of all – you know the showers are cleaned daily. Of course, this works in your bathroom if you can’t find a coil.
The other method of not keeping files that I find useful is on the underside of desks or stone surfaces. One is wood and the other is stone. Both will work in a pinch. The tops of both are usually smooth as glass. But bottoms are a gold mine. file away. This will prevent you from harming yourself until you find the file.
Simply choose clean places to file your nails. Don’t try these hacks on the subway or in the bathroom of an airplane. You never know what will work. Remember, you don’t need a nail file to file this nail.
