There are many different styles and types of fabrics and construction for different functions; It’s hard to know how to properly care for your clothes.
Most manufacturers will include cleaning instructions, however, if you own more than one, it can be confusing. Additionally, it is important to clean the trainer or chainsaw frequently to avoid odor and skin irritation due to bacteria caused by perspiration.
However, if you follow these general rules, you will never go wrong.
1. Washing – Always hand wash in cold water. Never put it in the automatic washer or dryer. Use a laundry detergent designed for delicate fabrics and do not allow the trainer or chainsaw to soak for long periods of time. Never use bleach and never scrub or scrub with a sponge as it will damage the garment. A quick hand wash and a good rinse are all that is necessary. When finished, gently squeeze out excess water, do not wring or twist. Use a towel to blot up the excess water, especially if it’s a latex trainer. Never wash the latex trainer with any other clothing. Color can permeate other fabrics.
2. Drying – After washing, allow the trainer or clip to air dry as flat as possible. One good way to dry it is to use a drying rack. Never allow a trainer or chainsaw to dry out in the sun. Depending on the type of corset or waist trainer, it can take anywhere from 2 to 4 hours, and some longer, for it to dry completely. It is important to let the garment dry completely because wearing a garment that is slightly damp will stretch the shape when worn. This can be true for both fabric and latex trainers. Allow it to dry off whites so it doesn’t cause color to bleed from your clothes. For latex trainers and laces, since latex is a type of rubber, it can become discolored if not dried properly. Another important tip for latex trainers is to never allow driers too close to the skin as it can damage the latex. You can hand wash the sniffer every night so it dries in the morning, or buy a few so you can have a clean, fresh one every day.
3. Storage – Both fabric and latex trainers can change color if not stored properly. The best way to store a trainer or chainsaw is to make sure it is completely dry. Store them separately from your other clothes so the colors don’t bleed and ruin your clothes. For latex trainers and laces, do not store near leather clothing as it mars the material.
4. Following these simple instructions will ensure that your latex and fabric waist trainer or girdle does the job of training your waist properly to get the beautiful hourglass figure you desire and benefit from for years to come.
Don’t wear it with clothing or sit on chairs, car seats, or anything that could absorb the color – or you don’t want the color to bleed onto it. Many colored waist trainers and corsets are delicate and the color can spread onto other fabrics. When washing, please do not put other fabrics or clothes with it. This will keep your waist trainer beautiful for a long time!
